CURRENT PROJECT

Barn Conversion to Holiday Lodge — Former Apple Farm

Planning resubmission and structural design for the conversion of a traditional former apple farm barn store into characterful holiday accommodation in rural Norfolk.

LOCATION

Great Plumstead, Norfolk

SERVICES

Planning resubmission, planning drawings, structural drawings, planning strategy

A stronger route to consent, built around the previous refusal.

A previous application to convert the building to a dwelling had been refused, with concerns around the retained structural framework, insufficient evidence of agricultural use and a proposed curtilage larger than the building footprint. Any resubmission needed to answer those points directly.

Span Blue reviewed the planning history, drawings and delegated refusal report, then prepared fresh planning and structural drawings demonstrating how the existing frame can be retained and sensibly strengthened. Repositioning the proposal as a holiday lodge enables the scheme to be considered on its own planning merits.

THE OUTCOME

A coordinated resubmission package with its strongest possible route to consent.

The proposal is resubmitted with a clear planning strategy and structural evidence that responds point-by-point to the previous refusal.
